A safer, more transparent property experience
POM aims to build trust between tenants, hosts and agents through clear listing information, responsible conduct and accessible reporting procedures.
A. Listing standards
Listings should contain accurate information about:
- Property location and type.
- Number of rooms, bathrooms and available facilities.
- Furnished or unfurnished status.
- Rental price and payment conditions.
- Availability and booking requirements.
- Relevant restrictions and additional charges.
- Recent, representative photographs.
Misleading photographs, duplicate listings, false availability and undisclosed charges may result in a listing being suspended or removed.
B. Host and agent standards
Hosts and agents must provide accurate information, respect agreed terms and demonstrate that they are authorised to advertise the property.
POM may require identity verification, proof of authority to list, property documentation or other checks according to its procedures.
C. Protect yourself from rental scams
- Verify the property and the identity or authority of the person offering it.
- Arrange an inspection where reasonably possible.
- Request a written agreement and receipt for payments.
- Confirm the total amount due, including deposits, commissions and additional charges.
- Avoid sending money to unverified personal accounts.
- Be cautious of prices that appear unusually low or pressure to pay immediately.
- Keep communication and transaction records.
D. Reporting a problem
Report suspicious listings, impersonation, duplicate advertisements, unauthorised commission requests, harassment or suspected fraud through the app or POM support.
Include the listing link, relevant messages, screenshots and transaction evidence where available.
POM will review reports under its applicable procedures. It may request additional information, restrict a listing or account, or refer a matter to the appropriate authorities where necessary.
E. Important limitation
POM’s role in a transaction depends on the services actually provided for that transaction. A published listing or verification badge does not, by itself, guarantee the property, the conduct of another user or the outcome of a rental agreement.
